How to arrange your dining room table
To optimise the best feng shui in your dining room, firstly purchase the right sized table for the space, making sure it fits comfortably in the room. Tables that are oval or round often work best, but if your table is square or rectangle, balance it out with round objects, like a rug, in the space.
Put the table in the middle of the room and have it at an angle, to create a flowing space in a curving shape around the area.
Where To Seat Your Guests At The Dining table
A good host will suggest the best seating arrangement and give reasons as to why people should sit in certain places. For example, perhaps Jenny has something in common with Jane, and explain this as a reason for sitting them together. It also gives them a chance to get to know each other with a conversation starter.
The guest of honour should sit in the best position and the host should sit to their left.
Dining etiquette
When you’re seated at the table, make sure you place your serviette in your lap straight away. Set the table in such a way that the outside cutlery is used first and guests slowly make their way in as they eat through the courses.
